(Francis) Marion, amerikanischer Schriftsteller, * Bagni di Lucca (Italien) 2. 8. 1854, ✝ Sorrent 9. 4. 1909; unternahm zahlreiche Reisen, die sich auch in seinen über 40 Romanen widerspiegeln, darunter in der in Italien spielenden »Saracinesca«-Serie; bevorzugte eine romantisierende Erzählweise und betonte den Unterhaltungswert von Literatur.

 2) Joan, eigentlich Lucille Faye le Sueur [ləsy'œːr], amerikanische Filmschauspielerin, * San Antonio (Texas) 23. 3. 1906, ✝ New York 10. 5. 1977; begann 1925 mit »Pretty ladies« ihre Filmkarriere, wurde bekannt für die Darstellung von Figuren, die materielle Ziele rücksichtslos den Emotionen überordnen (so »Paid«, 1930); ab 1945 gelang ihr ein Come-back (Oscar 1945 für »Mildred Pierce«) bis zum Höhepunkt »Was geschah wirklich mit Baby Jane?« (1962); in »Meine geliebte Rabenmutter« (1981; nach dem Buch ihrer Tochter) hat Faye Dunaway ihren Charakter zu deuten versucht.
